    • lolalola - congratulations!!! :jumpers:

welcome to the newbies :wave - I hope your stay here is a short one

I'm happy to report my DH will be home for the next week or so... just in time for ovulation. :wink Now I just need my body to cooperate and let go of that egg! :lol

    • A big Congratulations :surprise: again to lolalola.

Lots of :dust. Hopefully we'll all be able to full advantage of the cooler fall evenings and get pregnant with lots of June babes. :dust

Love you women, but boy I am soooo hoping that I won't be making it to the TTC newbies October thread.

    • Thanks for starting the new thread, mamamerle! I'm glad I checked. We almost had a duplicate. :p

Good luck! Glad to hear DH will be in town for O! Whoohoo! That certainly helps a bit...:lol

Update for me: Still no AF - CD 36 (I usually have 29 day cycles). Still no + tests either though. :( Tender breasts, no PMS type stuff other than the cramps a few days ago. Some sticky/creamy CM. I have managed to not POAS today. (I'm so proud!) Yesterday, I did POAS when I got up thinking that since it was first morning pee, maybe I'd get a +. Nope. Frustrating. Seems like I have to pee a lot, but it's hard to tell if that's normal or something new. After having DD I can't hold it as long as I used to. :p

Got a new 2-pack of FRER's. I plan to try again tomorrow morning. I've never had a cycle longer than 36 days and I'm pretty sure I O'd this month. If tomorrow's is negative, I guess I'll wait a few more days or a week then try again, unless AF shows up. Might need to see the doc to find out what's going on. Sigh.

I'm glad that DH works from home tomorrow so he'll be here for support for whatever the test comes up as. And I have a dentist appt. tomorrow so regardless of my test outcome, if I'm not having AF, I am not having any Xrays - just in case.

    • I'm no expert (far from it) but that looks like a GREAT chart to me frog!

    • I'm with you frog, halfway through and seeing pregnancy in every twinge of my body.:dizzy:

    • 2much, are you charting?
      #6; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:51:00 GMT
    • Well, I never thought I'd say this, but :banana whoohoo!

      :af is here. :thumb

So back to CD1 after a 43 day cycle. A new record for me.

Lots of :fingersx: and :dust for you all!

      #7; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:52:00 GMT
    • 2much, are you charting?

Not really charting, but keeping track of cm and things. I am temping (for the first month in my life) but my temps have been so wacky that I think there's something wrong with my thermometer.

So, tell me about implantation spotting, anyone who has had it. I've never had it before. I'm about 7DPO (CD 22) and had a bit of pink spotting. :shrug I'm also crampy and gassy (like just before AF). Is it possible for AF to start so soon after ovulation (I have very regular 28 day cycles)? Or can I get unreasonably excited now?

      #8; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:54:00 GMT
    • :hug Starflower. I'm so glad something finally happened!

      Me too!

I have never had implantation spotting before but the timing sounds good. :D

:broc: :carrot :banana :broc: :carrot :banana I'm so excited for you! Congratulations!!! :banana :carrot :broc: :banana :carrot :broc:

I've been just :lurk: and reading. I've been trying to pack, and I check in at lease once a day, but today, I felt the need to post to tell you how excited I am for you!!! Your chart looks like it might be triphasic!!!

Just to give you all an update, I'm still here in Waiting to O Land. DH & I are bding once a day for the next couple days till I do O. Since twice a day last cycle didn't work, we'll just let the little guys build back up. I think we're probably going to miss it this month with him going to NC and me staying in PA so it'll be hard for us to BD.

My best friend told me that her mother has been diagnosed with a disease called Macroglobulinemia. (go ahead, try to pronounce it) Which is a type of cancer similar to luchemia, but it's not luchemia. And they are testing her to see if it's a different kind of this particular disease (please don't make me spell it again) The difference between the one they think she has and the one they are testing her for is, the one they are testing for causes spots on the bones and makes them very brittle, but the MRI isn't showing any spots, so they're testing other ways. She was diagnosed about 5 years ago with Osteoperosis (because of a very early historectomy and menopause at age 38) So it's hard to say what is going to happen from this point. She has not started chemo yet because there are two different treatments for the two they are trying to decipher between right now and they want her to get the exact treatment she needs.

All that to say, please keep praying for her. She really needs it!

Lots of luck and :dust :dust :dust to everyone!!!

and mommy_in_chaos....the cycle we conceived dd, after months of doing the deed every day, we did the "sperm meets egg plan" (google it) and it worked perfectly! It is an every other day plan......check it out!

    • Ok so I got a top of the page post earlier today and now one here too. Please tell me it's lucky. Today is a bad day for me for obsessing. I need to get away from the computer because it makes it worse I think. I was gonna hold out until Monday which is 16DPO and my AF due day to test but I am wondering if I could just test tomorrow and get a BFP. I know I should just wait. ARGH...the obsessing and agonizing begins.:dizzy:

    • AND THE DIGITAL SAYS.....:belly Thank you all for all of the well wishes!

I ran home at lunch and took an E.P.T Certainty Digital test and it said Pregnant. So, between the $tree and the EPT, I'm guessing this is for real. I need lots of sticky vibes. Here's the ordeal, briefly if you are interested:

Conceived #1 and had m/c at 7 weeks, conceived #2 and started bleeding immediately, said I was probably m/c again. Had levels checked and not enough Progesterone to sustain a pregnancy. Put on progesterone suppositories for 14 weeks. Bled for 14 weeks. Found out I have a Bicornuate Uterus (heart shaped) which may be why I m/c the first. Has high risk for m/c, second trimester loss or preterm delivery (28-32 weeks). Spent the entire pregnancy at the perinatology (high-risk) drs. having weekly sonos and preterm labor tests (Ffn's). Throughout pregnancy, I was told DD had SO MANY things wrong, placenta previa, polyhydramnios, ventricular septal defect (heart), ecogenic intracardiac focus (heart), possible neurological problems, Down Syndrome, etc, etc. I refused the amnio. At 40w3d I sent myself to the hospital because as I had told the drs., the baby was no longer moving and I was having some type of contractions. Good Thing. She was ripped from me during an emergency ceserean for which I was not present because an error was made during my spinal so they put me on a ventilator and intubated (sp?) me and I awoke hours later. Her placenta was completely calcified, was no longer functioning and she had no oxygen. I was correct, she wasn't moving. She was born a healthy baby girl, don't want to think about if I had not gone in that day. Anyway, I have a VERY HIGH RISK of not carrying this pregnancy, so lots of :1praying: and :sticky would be much appreciated.

Well, off to join the May DDC. I hope to See All Of You There! I don't want to see anyone joining the 6+ club!

    • Oh, and can I just add, I am now a true believer in the whole Evening Primrose Oil, Grapefruit Juice, Green Tea, Robitussin thing. One cycle of that and I couldn't stop the EWCM! And look what happened!
      #23; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:09:00 GMT
    • Congratulations, TryingAgain!

OK. I guess I will be trying out the evening primrose oil and all. CD2 here and we get paid on Friday so I hope that will be early enough to start my regimen to make a difference in the EWCM. OF course, we we get preggo this month, I might have two kids with the same b-day.....

    • :dust for firemomma. Good luck tonight!
      #33; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:19:00 GMT
    • I am new, what is the evening primrose oil thing?

evening primrose oil, or EPO, helps a lot with cervical mucus/fluid. I took it a bunch when ttc dd, and it made a world of difference. Start taking it when af arrives, or shortly thereafter. And take it until O is confirmed. :) I think I was taking anywhere from 500-2000 mg/day

      #34; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:20:00 GMT
    • I plan on taking Mucinex this cycle. Is it ok to double up with evening primrose oil?

      Cycle #5 here we come!

How much Mucinex should you take a day and when?

    • :hug Katie.
      #38; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:24:00 GMT
    • Tryingagain,

Praying for a wonderful, healthy, and happy pregnancy for you.

AF arrived on Thursday for me. I had a dream 2 nights before that AF came and somehow I woke feeling really okay with that. It was no big deal when it really arrived. This probably means I'm out for a few cycles becasue it had to be Sept. as the latest month and with my long cycles I probably won't O again until late Oct. (unless something in my cycles changes) We have travel plans in July that I really don't want to mess up for my kids and the dates cannot be changed...so I may wait until December to ttc and use this time to try to optimize my health and figure out my hormones, etc. I'll still be around here to see hopefully all of you move over to the I'm Pregnant forum!

      Good Wishes everybody!

      #39; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:25:00 GMT
    • Sorry about AF coming to visit, Mary-Beth and MoonGypsy.

I'm on CD 5 over here and thought AF would be done by now but she's still here. I used to always go 7 days but after I started using the Diva Cup it got shorter most of the time. This AF is more like the old ones. But hey, I had a super long (43 day) cycle so maybe that has something to do with it too.

I was going to start Evening Primrose and all that but I haven't yet because DH's company is late with the paychecks. It's a startup and it happens once in awhile, but only when we're too the wire in our checking account for some reason.

So there is some stress here. And my parents are coming to visit next month but I'm already starting to stress a little about it. We'll see how this cycle ends up. Hopefully not too out of whack. :fingersx:

If we did get pg. this cycle, DD would possibly have to share her birthday. We don't plan to use BC this month or anything but we might just kind of take it easy as to TTC. (Easy for my DH, not so easy for me.) But DD started preschool and it's a co-op plus we've got some other stuff going on lately so maybe I won't get so TTC-obsessed this time.

:dust to all! I'm looking forward to seeing some more +++'s around here!

      #40; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:26:00 GMT
    • I am never testing early again! This level of obsession is NOT healthy. :irked: It is an emotional roller coaster.:dizzy:

Yesterday I got what could be a faint + on a $ tree. Could also be evap. Today I got another faint + . I'm more sure this one is a + instead of an evap because it is definately pink. BUT I got a - on a FRER, so I have no idea what to think and I am going to go crazy today. :(

No. More. Early. Testing. What a headache.

Anybody have any first hand experience with both $ tree tests and FRER? I would assume that FRER would give me a + before the $ tree, right?

      #41; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:27:00 GMT
    • No advice for you 2Much but I agree about the level of obsession thing. I've come to a decision to stop the obsession and leave it up to nature and just love my DH a lot and ever since I decided that I feel a little better and more calm.

I hope you figure out the test thing. I took a $tree test at 12 dpo and it showed nothing and I totally regretted it.

      T

      #42; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:28:00 GMT
    • hello ladies, i've been :lurk: for a while but wanted to say that i really relate to these obsessive tendencies. i'm 11DPO (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/chartgraph_module.php?d=2006-09-17&mode=a&ts=1158496305) and trying not to think about it every minute, rewarding myself for not POAS, convincing myself one way or another based on the smallest, most irrelevant signs ("i'm so tired, i must be pg...wait a minute, i've been tired for the last four years" or "i better be pg 'cuz i've already gained 5lbs":o) I feel like a total nut lately.

so lots of :1praying: & :dust for us all as we breathe through these days, appreciating our families, loving :hearts ourselves...

      #43; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:29:00 GMT
    • Anybody have any first hand experience with both $ tree tests and FRER? I would assume that FRER would give me a + before the $ tree, right?

      When i got pregnant w/ dd, I tested at 11&12dpo w/ $tree, and they were negative. 13dpo I got a + on FRE. The next day i got a + on $ tree.

This time around, I have gotten two faint-looking tests w/ $ tree, but they both turned out to be evaps. Did the faints show up within 10 minutes? If so, then you are probably safe. Good Luck, let us know!

      #44; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:30:00 GMT
    • thank you, tara and violet. I am feeling much better now after taking some deep breaths and letting go a little bit. I probably shouldn't have even posted earlier. It was early and I was half asleep and crazed. I will definately not be doing this early testing game next time though. :shake

jillybeans, thank's for your experience! The lines were within the 10 minutes (on the tail end of it). I was convinced that this morning's was a + (because it was very cleary pink and very clearly within the limit) until I saw the FRER result.:dizzy: In any case I am just trying to let go of it in my mind and relax. There is no point in getting worked up.:o

      #45; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:31:00 GMT
    • Oh, and thank you all for bearing with my obsession. It is good to not be alone. :hug
      #46; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:32:00 GMT
    • 2much2luv, don't ever worry that you are going through this obsession alone. :wink I'm at 7dpo and I keep looking at my chart as if something will magically change. :dizzy:

      Mary-Beth and MoonGypsy :hug

    • Boy, it's been busy here. I'm mostly just lurking this month, trying to stay mellow and calm this cycle and not obsess, so far so good. AF is due on the 24th but other than that I have no idea where I my in my cycle (for the first time in 3 months, phew). Well, I'm passed O but other than that...

Lots of :fingersx: and :dust :dust :dust to all.

Looking forward to more pregnancy announcements!

      #48; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:34:00 GMT
    • Thank you, janie. :o I got really wrapped up in it all this first month. I'm going to try to take it a little easier on myself from now on.

It's been an emotional few days, but Af is gearing up so I'm on to the next cycle. I am trying to decide if I want to go ahead and ttc this month and have two july babies. They might be a good match for my two january babies. ;) I had said I wanted to avoid this month but now I'm second guessing myself. I have a few weeks to think about it.

      #49; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:35:00 GMT
    • mirthfulmum~ I'm with you! :thumb I am really trying to avoid the awful stressing and obsessing that comes with everything.

Last month I was SO upset when af came that I just want to go with the flow this month. I know when I o'd and we bd at a good time so there is hope but I'm really not trying to convince myself of anything.

I know that if it doesnt happen I'll be a little upset that the next pregnancy might be a middle of summer baby AGAIN! I just remember being so big and swollen with my ds that I want to avoid it but I would rather be preggo then not. Good luck to all... lets get some good news in here!

      #50; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:36:00 GMT
    • I like it here and hope you can all put up with my limited knowledge of how to use the abbreviations and other things. I have no internet at home so I can try to get on this at work and the library.

I am getting ready to O within the next week. I have started the mucinex and was thinking about getting evening primrose too. Does anyone know how much to take?

Our closest friends are expecting their first (oops! it was an accident - AHHH) child and I find myself full of anxiety everytime she says "When you are pregnant..." Overwhelmed with the fear it will never happen.

I am hoping to make a friend or two with whom I can share this anxiety, because I dont really have any girl friends except the pregnant one and I dont always like her all that much. We never discuss anything meaningful because she is one of the most selfish persons I have ever met.

So-again, if anyone knows how much evening primrose oil, could you let me know?

Good luck to all of you as you wait your two weeks out, as mine will be here soon enough, and that scares the hell out of me.

    • Welcome, matey. Here's some :dust for this cycle.
      #52; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:38:00 GMT
    • I've been lurking here for a while now but I can't contain myself anymore:dizzy:

We've been ttc our 2nd for 4 months now and I'm getting frustrated. It should be my AF by now (I'm not regular - somewhere between 24-28days) but nothing - neither BFP nor AF. Oh well, I'll wait for a couple of days and test again. Stop me from going:dizzy:

Lots of :dust :dust :dust :dust to everybody

    • Hi another newbie, don't understand much of what is being discussed on the thread. We have been talking about trying for a kid for a while and decided to start trying in September. So now it's September and I'm scared! I'm 35 and I know I want children so it's confusing to feel so scared about this change. I guess I should mention it would be our first. Oh and should I be concerned that my sex drive evaporated as soon as September started?
      #55; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:41:00 GMT
    • :hola: & :w to all you newbies!!! It's good to have you all here... For all you newbies, I'd like to recommend a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschle. It's a great book and VERY helpful. We've all loved it. You can order your own copy from amazon or any on line book carrier, or just borrow a copy from your local library.

      hazieluna~

Don't be concerned... I have to force myself to have sex every time I know I'm fertile and this was our 5th month TTC... It feels like it's an obligation if I want another baby, so it's going to feel that way for a while. Just remember that you're the only one who knows when you're fertile and you don't have to make him worry about it as well.

I've been very busy lately. But I wanted to stop in and give you all my update. DH started his new job on Monday and it's going well. We've been looking for a new home here and i've been very overwhelmed with that. But we did find a place and I'll be signing the lease this afternoon. I'm just very leary about the school districts down here.

Because I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to TTC this month, I haven't POAS at all this month, not even the OPK's. But I have been temping, and I got my crosshairs yesterday. So FF says that I'm 4 DPO today, and guess what?!? If it's right, we got to DTD the day I O'd!!! I really thought we were going to be apart for this one, but we made it!!! I'm so glad. Thought I'm not going to POAS to find out, I'm just going to wait it out. I think it will be easier this month because I'll be packing and getting ready to set up house keeping. Lots to keep my occupied.

So that's it... I hope everyone has a good week. I'm hoping I can stop back later this week to catch up on everyone!

      :dust to everyone!!

      :sticky vibes to you tryingagain!!!

    • Good morning all and hello to the new commers.

AF showed up today (like 5 days early again). I'm a bit disapointed but now that we've finnished our 3rd cycle of TTC I'm getting used to it. *sigh* And on the plus side my oldest won't have to share his birth month with a sibling.

Hopefully soneone out there will have better luck.

      :dust :dust :dust :dust

    • Thought I'd check this thread out, haven't been here for a couple weeks and don't want to jinx myself until AF arrives, but in reality...I'll be here by the end of the week.

So, hi to all, new and not so new and lots of :dust to everyone

Matey: I have read anywhere from 1000-3000mg daily for EPO. Use only until ovulation and then switch to flax seed oil. I personally used 1000 mg to start off and may up it this (coming)cycle.

      Best wishes!

    • Hello all.

Looks like I've got some cycle buddies. I'm on CD 2 and have decided to go ahead and let things be this month even if it means possibly having another July baby.

      #59; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:45:00 GMT
    • I've been lurking here for a while now but I can't contain myself anymore:dizzy:

We've been ttc our 2nd for 4 months now and I'm getting frustrated. It should be my AF by now (I'm not regular - somewhere between 24-28days) but nothing - neither BFP nor AF. Oh well, I'll wait for a couple of days and test again. Stop me from going:dizzy:

Good luck! Hang in there. I had a cycle last time that went on forever for seemingly no reason at all and I kept getting BFNs. It was making me nuts. This cycle I'm just trying to chill. Haven't O'd yet so we'll see how well I do. I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. :Hug

Hey, y'all, just checkin' in to say I'm on CD2. At-home IUI with a midwife this cycle! :thumb :fingersx: for you frog! I hope your midwife can help you move things along. :dust

Hi another newbie, don't understand much of what is being discussed on the thread.

I think you are normal! When we were trying for our first, we were both pretty scared even though we knew we wanted children. Now we're trying for #2 and I am 35 (edging on closer to 36) and I've been having vascillating thoughts this cycle. Last cycle was really hard on me - it went really long but I wasn't PG. :(

I am also an artist and sometimes I am afraid I'll never get to do my art if I have another. But if we don't do it soon, I'm afraid we won't be able to. (It took us a long time to get DD - but once we discovered the secret of the EWCM - wham! we got PG right away after 2+ years of trying).

I still want a baby too though. So I think most of my anxieties are stemming from the emotional rollercoaster I was on last cycle. I know I can always go back to doing art at any age. I can't have a baby at any age. So all this :blahing is just saying that I can relate to your situation.

Before we decided to actively TTC, my sex drive was really intense around O. Now that we're officially TTC, it's kind of disappeared, mostly due to my hyper-awareness of the mechanics of getting PG. :irked:

So this cycle I am going to get started on the evening primrose, etc. (I have maybe 2-4 hours of precious EWCM right now) and try to take better care of myself. This includes eating better and also doing some drawing. I am doing a babysitting trade with a friend and DD just went over to her place so in about 5 minutes, I am going to start doing some drawing. The dishes and the laundry can wait.

I would've started the mucous-inducing regimen earlier, but DH's paycheck was late and we were busy playing beat the bank. He finally got paid yesterday! :thumb Yeah!! So now I can try and get on track with the eve. primrose oil and all.

      :dust to us all!

    • We are new here. First month back with a cycle since having DS and we were so excited that we have something to try for now. I am charting cycle only right now but really need to get a basal thermometer tonight so that I can start charting that too.

Originally I was sticking to my guns about not TTC until March (being at my job a bit longer, not being super preg in the summer) but if you saw my post about happy dancing when I got AF on Friday all that waiting stuff has been thrown out the window. Who am I kidding, I want another baby now!

      #61; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:47:00 GMT
    • Welcome, yogachick! I know how you feel. We were planning on waiting 2 or 3 more YEARS. But the desire for another child has been growing in both of us so we finally decided to go for it last month. :bouncy Good luck to you!

    • Well DH come home from work today looking upset. Apparently he's going to have to be away on Saturday. He already works Friday and Sunday so he won't be around at all this weekend and he'd finally convinced me to test on Saturday. So...he poked me until I went off to test, just to keep him quiet.

      But... :jumpers: :+

Still very faint, but definately two lines. Eek, I didn't think it would actually work!

    • I know I said I wasn't going to, but I had to go, and it was there... so I :bag: Peed on a Stick... And I desperately want to tell you all that it was positive, but I can not. There was only one line. I am not pregnant. :( Maybe it's for the best right now though because of our move. But oh well, at least now when DH comes home I wont have to test. And I wont have anything to tell him. When AF shows up, he'll be away again, so it'll be gone before he comes back home and we can DTD lots after that. Maybe next month...

    • Hooray, jillybeans! Seems like TTC can be just one big waiting game sometimes.

CD16 here. Thought I had some O pain yesterday but I'm not sure. We did BD on CD14 (late evening) and so far I don't think CM has evolved past "sticky". :( So I don't think I've O'd yet. Still not temping (still sleeping erratically). Hoping to O soon. We don't BD very often so we have to time things really well. Or maybe we should just make a point to BD a lot and stop worrying about timing so much. Don't know.

Still doing the EPO and red raspberry. Does anyone here know much guiffesin (sp.) is needed to be effective? And what exactly does the green tea do to help? I don't like it but I am trying really hard. Maybe someone can convince me? :p

      Thanks! :wave

    • Ok, So i've been thinking. Why is that I have all these days of EWCM, and DTD when I have it, but I'm still not getting pg? This is the second month in a row that I've temped and DTD a minimum of 3 days before ovulation, and the day of, and last month even the day after. Why is it that it's not working. I thought EWCM was the key to getting the egg. This is our 5th month TTC. I have to move to the other board when I get AF. Should I be worried about DH's little swimmers? If so, How do I suggest to him that it could be him that is the reason we're not getting the job done? I hate to think of how hurt he would be because of it. But I know that I am ovulating, and I know that I have the right kind of cervical fluid. What's the deal?

(check out all the days of wet, and eggwhite CM that I have on my chart in my signature)

If you have a copy of TCOYF, there is a chapter about going thru SA first, since it is fairly easy, she even suggest to have it done after 4 months of unsuccesfull but well timed TTC. I'd use this as a starting point to talk to you husband.

I started feeding mine multivitamins, extra zinc and selenium already, just in case. And told him if we don't get pg, he is the one to get checked first since it doesn't hurt.

You could also try every other day thing one of the cycles.

Your timing might be off. Fresh sperm CAN live up to five days, but sooner is better and if there aren't swimmers waiting when the egg is released, you won't get pregnant (so, day of may be too late, and day after is definitely too late).

    • starflower: green tea is helpful for cm. I hated it plain, so used it flavored, or mixed one bag green tea w/ another flavored tea(taking this one out after a minute)

      Mommy_in_chaos:

I used to wonder the same things when i started ttc dd. the month we actually conceived, we did the sperm meets egg plan

      http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm

which helped. I've heard that dtd too much can sometimes not be beneficial.

and if you are ready for seeing someone about it, then def. do the s/a first. But before you enter THAT big stress-filled area, try the sperm meets egg plan. ;)

      #77; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 05:06:00 GMT
    • Mommy in chaos - Wish I could help you. I'm in the same boat but one month behind you.

Jilly - You had mentioned the sperm meets egg plan before and I googled it a few weeks ago. We are in the middle of trying it right now. I just started OPK's for the first time ever and we started DTD everyother night recently. I hope it works for me. I don't think anything is wrong with DH's sprem since we concieved DS on the second try.

      Hugs around ((()))((()))((()))

    • I tried to post here earlier but apparently the computer ate my post. :p

I was hoping that DH and I would get a chance to BD again tonight. No such luck. He ended up working until 4 a.m. last night (at least it was from home) and then worked late again - until 8:30 tonight. I think he said he only slept 4 hours. Between his work schedule and DD refusing to go to bed, it wasn't going to happen tonight. :(

I'm on CD17 now, still no EWCM, but quantity is improving on the sticky/creamy stuff so I am still hoping to O soon and get some good quality CM going here.

The green tea I got a few days ago is flavored with jasmine and I definitely prefer it to the regular green tea, but I still don't actually "like" it.

So what's the deal with green tea helping CM but it has caffeine in it which I thought was supposed to be bad?

Just curious mostly. I suppose I could actually give up my coffee. :yikes: I am trying to do half decaf. Does that count?:innocent

      http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/greentea.html

we drink green tea all the time, and after a while you do get used to the flavor. I hated it at first too. I can honestly say that while everyone we know is sick, we start chugging the stuff, and we are VERY VERY RARELY sick. :)

    • Does anyone know if its okay to drink Red Raspberry Leaf tea after O if you're trying to get pregnant?

I've been told it is safe throughout pregnancy and nursing so I've been drinking it...but someone mentioned to me that they thought it could prevent implantation. They didn't know where they read that.

The FertiliTea I saw advertised at the babyhopes site says to drink it until you become pregnant and then stop. It has the Red Raspberry Leaft as well at Green Tea and other things.

      Any advise please!

    • Got the crosshairs today--nailed the first insem timing, the second may have been too late, but maybe not, since FF only works in 24-hour blocks. :)

Frog, your insem timing and +OPK result are EXACTLY how my chart was with my daughter's pregnancy. +OPK, BD same night, BD again the next night. Got the crosshairs for the day of the +OPK. So, looks good to me!!!!!!:thumb

    • hi girls! Can i join ya? This is our first cycle ttc # 2...not temping this month. I am 11dpo *i think* based on cm and cp. Cp is high today, with ew...i guess it could be because af is coming? maybe one of you could take a peek at the chart and tell me what you think... we'll be temping next month, if there is one!

Oh, and for those who bf while ttc, did your cycle seem to return to normal right away? I got first ppaf when dd was 8.5months.

    • :hola: and :w jillybeans! Lots of :dust to you!!!
      #94; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:19:00 GMT
    • Hi, jillybeans! My period returned to normal just about right away after each of my three births. I think maybe the first month was a little off, but I've always had very regular 28 day cycles that came back all too soom (6 weeks after my first birth, about 3 months after my second, and about 5 months after my third). Good luck to you.
      #95; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:20:00 GMT
    • Well, FF rescinded my crosshairs. :irked:

I'm ignoring it, though. It'll come around to my way of thinking! :lol

      #96; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:21:00 GMT
    • I had a similar experience as 2much2luv. I got ppaf back at 5 months even though I was still ebfing. My MW said that some women are just more sensitive to hormonal shifts than others. My af was pretty regular w/in a month or two but really everyone is different so you'll just have to wait and see. My DS weaned himself two months ago and not much has changed for my AF but I have noticed more acne since he weaned.

My update is that I got a temp at coverline today and I'm really hoping it was a implantation dip since I'm 6 dpo. I've been thinking a lot about hope and positive thinking lately so I'm really trying to stay positive this cycle and I really believe this one could be it for us.

    • Hello, ladies. Welcome, newbies. :wave

Well, today was CD 40 :eek and I've had a :I blood test on Tuesday, then another :I (urine) today at the naturopath's office. So I don't think I'm preggo this time, just really late. I've never had a cycle go on and on and on like this before. I've never missed a period except with I was pg. I am still having sticky to creamy CM, menstral type cramps on and off and sore nipples. (Doesn't help that DD is a 3 yr .old nurse-o-matic.)

I decided to go to the naturopath today because the OB/GYN office where I had the blood test kind of p****d me off. I felt like they were kind of blowing me off like I was imagining the symptoms. Even if my case wasn't particularly unusual to them, it sure as heck is unusual to me and I have been very upset about it. So I am just frustrated that they didn't seem to care once they got the negative result. OK, she's not pg. No worries. Well, I am OK with not being pg, but I would really like to know what in the world is going on with my body?! :bang I have never had a cycle like this and they are always very regular.

The ND had me pee in a cup (which of course DD thought was hilarious). As I expected, the test was negative. She didn't really give me any difinitive answers as to what was going on, but at least she listened to my concerns and confusion and treated me like a whole person. I get so tired of the typical medical professionals being so impersonal and seemingly uncaring.

At least my ND gave me several ideas of things that can delay a cycle and explained why she didn't think I needed to worry about things. She read over my FF charts which helped to put us at least on the same page. And she checked my abdomen when I asked just to make sure the ovaries didn't seem weird or anything.

Of course, my "prescription" is to relax, maybe meditate a bit and get a massage. I feel like I can finally do that now since I don't feel like I am totally on my own here with regards to doctors.

I guess I just feel like if I want a completely impersonal + or - with no follow-up to what may actually be going on, I could save time and money and POAS. My co-pay for the clinic was about the same price as 3 FRER tests.

OK. I will get off my :soapbox and end this rant. Now I guess I am just counting days and recording signs on FF. Still not absolutely positive if I've ovulated or not. I think from here, I'll just track things on FF to keep a record and not actively TTC for awhile. I kind of need a break from the stress of TTC.

But I'll probably still hang out here a bit. We're not going on birth control at this point or anything and I want to see how everyone else is doing!

    • Hey ladies. What's up?

:hug Starflower. I'm so sorry you still don't know what's going on. :( I hope something comes soon for you.

I'm just muddlin' through my tww, imagining symptoms and all that jazz.

    • Hello, I am back...I almost didn't notice that there was a new thread and I was getting a bit confused :innocent ! I found you all though!

I am still not charting, but AF just ended so....I am a bit hesitant to try this month though because I am not really into having a June baby...I am not really sure why though. There are a whole lot of June birthdays in our families. I think I would really rather wait and go for a July baby...but like some previous posters, I really had my heart set on a spring baby :( , I love the month of May. My birthday is in July though, and I always LOVED having my birthday in the summer.

We might not be soooo carefree this month and hang back a bit for next...

Good Luck :fingersx: to all and lots of faerie dust :dust

    • I consider myself a woman of average intelligence, and I try to use as many context clues as possible to detemine the meaning of many of the abbreviations used here, but some are leaving me puzzled. I *think* I know the meaning to some of these, but I'd rather have someone just tell me than to go on guessing...

      bfn

      bd

      bfp

      opk

      cd

      frer

these weren't on the other abbreviaion lists i usually have to open in another window until I know them.

Also, it's great to see other teachers that think like I do! I'm not currently teaching, but I'm in the final interviewing steps for one position (please send happy thoughts that I get it!). Is it unprofessional of me to want to get pg my first year with this district (it's not my first year teaching ever though)? I just figure it's better now and to have the baby in June, spend all summer with him/her (although I know it's not going to be enough time), and be able to start the school year in the fall. But then again, you never know when it's actually going to happen- I can plan all I want, there's no guarantee it'll work out that way!

      Agh!

      #107; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:32:00 GMT
    • bfn

      bd

      bfp

      opk

      cd

      frer

I'll see if I can help you!...

bfn= big fat negative (or another *f* word! :lol )

      bd= baby dance-- have sex

      bfp= big fat positive

      opk= ovulation predictor kit

cd= cycle day (from the start of one period until the start of the next)

frer= first response early response pregnancy test

Now, if someone will just tell me what TAO means?!

      #108; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:33:00 GMT
    • I'm in the 2ww. Waiting to test until 09/16. My charts are so wacky. What do you guys think?
      #109; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:34:00 GMT
    • Doh! I found the TTC abbreviations page too. TY though, much appreciated. It's all starting to make more sense now. ;)
      #110; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:35:00 GMT
    • The jargon is like some sort of secret initiation sometimes, isn't it?

      TAO = Talking Amongst Ourselves

If there's another meaning specific to the TTC board, I don't know what it is. :p

CD#42 here. I'm super grouchy today. Maybe it's AF coming. Or maybe I just need to get some sleep. Insomnia is so annoying. And DD started nursing at 4:00 a.m. and decided it was time to get up to eat a carrot and play at 5:00 a.m. At least we got a nap today!

I still haven't discussed future TTC plans with DH yet.

Oh, and here's a weird one! Yesterday, twice while I was eating with a fork, I had a lingering metallic taste in my mouth. WTF? I never had that when I was pg with DD but it popped into my head as a pg sign I'd read about. So here I am still confused.:dizzy:

I don't think I'm hoping for PG so badly that I would be imagining things. I am frustrated enough with lack of AF that I may be reading into things though. Is it possible to be PG but have a negative blood test and POAS's?

The good news is that I have a busy week with new fall activities so hopefully, if it's all in my head, I can let my brain think about some other stuff besides missing AF. I suppose I should just enjoy not bleeding for awhile. :D

    • MoonGypsy, I don't know a thing about charts, but good luck! I'm scheduled to test on the 19th.

Starflower, I wish you could get an answer already, :( I know there are women (although I'm sure it's rare) that don't get a positive test until very late in pregnancy. Anything is possible.

      #112; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:37:00 GMT
    • ugh. Another negative. Then again, I don't even know if I o'd or not. This is so frustrating! Come on someone, get pregnant! i need a pick me up! :lol

    • Hooray!! Congratulations, Patch!

Well, I just got back from PCC and have green tea, evening primrose oil and red raspberry leaf. I am hoping this will help me out in the CM department. :D

I didn't get any Robi or such because I can't take that stuff with another med I am on.

I was going to get some grapefruit juice, but I really hate the stuff and the one they had was all natural and unfiltered and had lots of "things" floating in it. I have this weird aversion to textures like that (even pulp in orange juice turns my stomach), so I decided to save my money and my sanity and skip the grapefruit juice.

      We me luck, please! :wave

    • Patchchild~ :dust :sticky :sticky Congrats!!!!! Yeah finally a pos. test!!!

So I have a question... I think I'm 7dpo and already my boobs are very sore? weird... I dont want to "think" anything for the fear of dissapointment but what do you girls think? to early? I also feel bloated and a little tired but that could be from salty food and working to hard. Anyway looking for feedback. thanks.

    • PatchChild - Congratulations! :jumpers:

firemommaof1 - I'm 9dpo and mine have been hurting for days. I just got home a little while ago and the first thing I did was rip off my bra. The sad thing is that it's a comfy cotton sports bra.

      Welcome newbies!!

    • I wouldn't read *too* much into early symptoms. I thought I had every symptom in the book this last month and -not pregnant-.
      #118; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:54:00 GMT
    • congrats patch! Enjoy your pregnancy!

I also don't read too much into symptoms. Well, at least after i get a bfn. :lol

I had every symptom in the book a week ago, including severe nausea, and i'm not pregnant. with dd, i was CONVINCED af was coming. More than any other month, cause i didn't have any "preggo" symptoms. But i was pregnant...with twins! :D

      #119; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:55:00 GMT
    • I think you are normal! When we were trying for our first, we were both pretty scared even though we knew we wanted children. Now we're trying for #2 and I am 35 (edging on closer to 36) and I've been having vascillating thoughts this cycle. Last cycle was really hard on me - it went really long but I wasn't PG. :( [/COLOR]

Thanks for the support, I appreciate you sharing your experiences especially about my fear. My DH is such a calm person, nothing ever seems to rile him. Me - I overthink myself into a frenzy... haha...

Funny that you mention your anxiety about returning to your art. I'm not an artist or really do anything creative - I work in Finance (ugh) - but I completely understand how you feel. Sometimes I think it's just that as I get older I get more comfortable with how my life is... maybe if I'd had children earlier it wouldn't have involved so much thinking. Now it is such a conscience decision I know I will have to sacrifice parts of my life that I like a lot, for example my quiet evenings drinking a glass of wine with my DH. I like my life, we've created a very cozy home for ourselves ... okay I'm going on and on. Basically I know I want children and I know how rewarding it will be once I have one. I have a 2 year old nephew that I love to bits! The decision has been made and we are on our way... it just I want to be very real about how my life is going to change and what a sacrifice it will be for me mostly in terms of focus and energy... now it's all about me - and it's been pretty good - I know I'm going to have to put myself in second place for a while.

      Btw Congrats Patch!!! So exciting!

    • Congrats Patch!!

Symptoms - With my DS the first thing I got was sore boobies. Not much else until I was a few weeks along then the stomach turned. So far since trying now I have had no preg symptoms each month so I guess my point is, everyone is different so I say listen to your body and your intuition most.

    • Hi there everyone.

I am also very new here and must admit have been lurking for a while. DH have decided to Ttc our first. I have 2 ds (13) and dd (11) from a previous marriage. We (dh and I ) (dh has no kids)really want a baby. I went off the pill last month. have been on forever!! I thought that I would go into this relaxed and see what happens. Not the case I can't wait to be sprinkled with that baby dust. Sometimes I think that I am to old. 38 but a very young 38 and take care of myself. I am not really sure if I o this month. I want to start charting I looked at FF and think that when I do start charting. If AF comes ( I am hoping that it doesnt) Had some nasty cramping and pains in my right side and am already hoping that I am preg!! :dizzy: To concieve dd I used the mucus Method.

Im glad that there is a Forum like this.

If I do start charting there is noooo way that I can do it before I get up. The kids get up for school at 5:45 (yep here in Germany they start very early) Is it possible to jump back in bed and then take the temp?? Would that work? Also, how much does ff cost?? And can I take the temps in C?

Glad you guys are here? I am soooo excited about ttc!!!

      Jezzy, ttc in germany

      #123; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 04:00:00 GMT
    • jezzy, i take my temps at 5:30 am, sometimes 4(although I use temp corrector for these early times) As long as you are consistent on temping, and have had 3 hours of good sleep, you should be fine! Good luck!
      #124; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 04:01:00 GMT
    • Taking temp is fast and easy. If you get a digital it will hold your temp. I also wake at 5:45, pop the ting in my mouth, wait till it beeps, and then get out of bed. I dont chart anything until night time. Some people say that you should take it immediatly upon rising, but in some discussion groups I have attended I have learned that it seems to vary by the person. I can take my temp right when I wake up and it is the same if I go to the bathroom first, but I still do it right away to make sure I have a pattern. On the weekends I set my clock for 5:45, wake up and pop the thermometer back in, and then drift back to sleep. I dont know how much ff costs. I use Natural Family Planning charts (A Catholic organization, although I used them before I was Catholic) and a booklet full of charts cost 3.25 or something and lasts forever.

Welcome, I am glad you have joined us. And GOOD Luck!

(I'd sprinkle you but I dont know how to)

I started the EPR (Thanks Ann109!) and Mucinex. I was recently sick and am recovering, although since I started the Mucus helpers all the stuff in my sinus has been coming out of my nose. I think this is due to all my mucus helpers, which is fine with me. I hope hope hope this is the month.

Some strange things going on but that may also have to do with the fact that I just got off the pill or maybe only wishful thinking :o Fat chance though I just went off the pill last month!

I haven't temp'd at all since ttc so I don't have that to go on.

So, I just wondered if cd9ish was too early to ovulate? :dizzy:

If you are having fertile signs, I say treat yourself as fertile and BD! If you O now, you'll be on your way. If you end up O'ing later, you can always BD some more. I'm sure your DH would be soooo disappointed...NOT!

    • Hi guys,

We're back from our long weekend vacation. FF moved my o date because of my temps but maybe they are just weird from being on vaca and I didn't temp at the same time and I didn't sleep well on that bed in the room. I love my bed so much and will be happy to sleep in it tonight.

I was doing really good about being positive and hopeful until today. I had a weird dream about POAS and getting a faint positive last night and woke up in a bad mood. I just got a feeling all of a sudden that we aren't preg this month. I talked about it to DH and he isn't stressed at all since "it's only been three months" and "we'll just get to keep trying" and "you only stopped nursing a month ago". I understand all these reason are logical but he just doesn't understand how hard it is on me mentally to keep trying and "failing". Someone once said they were tired of living half the month like they might be preg and that's how I feel already! I was doing so well and being so chilled out and relaxed and positive and all the sudden it all turned on me this morning on the way home. I hope this isn't PMS but I think it is.

My test date is supposed to be Monday 9/19 I think.

    • grr. tested on sat. and tonight, nothing. But no af signs either. i'm wondering seriously if I even o'd. I'm an experienced charter, familiar w/ my signs, and i had very clear fertile cm around the time i thought i o'd! Along with the sex drive....

Darnit! I want something to happen! *sigh*

      #142; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:46:00 GMT
    • teradactyl3 & jillybeans - the waiting around for a sign is the worst, isn't it?

I may be getting one: I started spotting today. Maybe AF is finally going to show up. More weird stuff too, though. One of my breasts was leaking a bit today. Yeah, I still nurse DD but I stopped leaking a loooong time ago.

If the spotting isn't AF showing up, then I think my hormones must be out of whack or something. Oh, well. I was in an unusally good mood today and fairly energetic as well. Whoohoo!

      Hang in there, ladies!

    • Welcome, newbies! :wave

Nothing too exciting to report over here. We haven't had time to BD at all (and I was a little mad at DH the other night anyway) but I haven't had any big fertility signs yet anyway. I'm on CD 14 I think. I believe I tend to O around CD16 so maybe something might happen soon. We'll see. This weekend was pretty stressful and I didn't get much sleep at all.

:lol One night I was so tired, I "broke" the DVD player by accidentally loading DD's "Stellaluna" movie on top of one DH and I had tried to watch before we were interrupted. It jammed the machine. Boy, was DD mad - and I was so sleepy, I just wanted to take a little nap on the couch. Lucky for me, DH managed to remove the discs and "fixed" the machine. :o Oops!

We'll see if my cycle is thrown off again. Last month was the dreaded 43 day cycle with the BFNs so I'm hoping to be back to the regular 29, kwim?

      :dust to all

Good luck with your move, Mommy in Chaos! :Hug I can relate to being scared at night without DH, too.

I'm also hoping to get DH to BD tonight. :wink I think things are moving forward hormonally. :D But since I still am not temping I guess I'll never know for sure unless I end up pg.

Hi Jezzy, try maybe Nachtkerzenoel oder Schluesselblumen. Forgive my German, I haven't been fluent for years, but my mom thinks it's right (and she's from Fuerth). If you cannot find any in Germany, try mail order. It works!!! Tschuess!

I don't know what it is german or dutch but you may try and ask for it by it's latin name "Oenothera Biennis", assuming you meant evening primerose not just any primerose:) Anyways, lots's of :dust :dust :dust to you. Mine didn't land on fertile grounds this month:(

Thank you, Jezzy:) I guess I'll try and relax this month and do bd because I feel like doing it not because I'm trying so hard ttc.

    • Good luck! Hang in there. I had a cycle last time that went on forever for seemingly no reason at all and I kept getting BFNs. It was making me nuts. This cycle I'm just trying to chill. Haven't O'd yet so we'll see how well I do. I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. :Hug

Before we decided to actively TTC, my sex drive was really intense around O. Now that we're officially TTC, it's kind of disappeared, mostly due to my hyper-awareness of the mechanics of getting PG. :irked:

      :dust to us all

Yeah, chillin', that's what I have to learn:wink Thanks!

    • Alright ladies. I started Mucinex, EPO and grapefruit juice yesterday. I dread it because it's all making me nauseous, but Wow... the change in CM is amazing!

      Wish me luck!

How much caffeine is to much? I drink no more than 2 cups a day. Is that to much??I dont smoke. What about me being a vegetarian? Is that a problem??

    • I dreamed about two big fat pink lines last night. :o

      :Hug

      #173; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 04:28:00 GMT
    • Katie, which are you drinking, pink or white grapefruit juice?? I read somewhere which one but I forgot and can't find it again. What is EPO??
      #174; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 04:29:00 GMT
    • Well, the only grapefruit juice Whole Foods had was Pink, but it's more orange colored and tastes like butt! :lol Seriously, the grossest tasting juice I've ever had. But DS got a kick out of it. I also drink 2 or 3 cups of Mother's Tea a day.

EPO = Evening Primrose Oil (capsules). I had some left over from when DS was born.

Regarding caffeine - You drink two cups of what a day? Coffee, soda, etc. I don't think being veg will make a difference as long as your nutrition is good. Eggs and dairy are wonderful preconception foods - lots of iron, protein and healthy fats. Lots of leafy greens - but you probably do that anyway.

Also, the link in your sig does not take you to your chart, just a picture of the ticker. This is the link you'll want to put in your sig for people to look at your chart. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1631b5 Are you not temping yet?

    • When do you usually start testing? I am 9 or 10dpo and tested today with $tree in the afternoon so not fmu and I see a small very very faint line if I squint and hold it in the right light... cant tell if its a evap line or maybe the colored line below the surface that turns pink when its positive. Anyway I wanted to know has anyone "convinced" themselves that they see something? I think I'm going crazy :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy: I might wait a few days to test again so if it was/is something it will be darker and I woulnt have to guess. Just want to know any other stories about the $tree tests. Just dont want to get my hopes up.

P.S. I threw it in the trash under lastnights dinner leftovers so I couldnt sit in the house and obsess over it all day... hummmm still obsessing even when I cant look at it.

    • A big Congratulations

Lots of :dust. Hopefully we'll all be able to full advantage of the cooler fall evenings and get pregnant with lots of June babes.

When I had DD (due on July 4 but born on June 20th) my OB/GYN said that June was their busiest month for births. Maybe people like to get "busy" once the bigger kids go back to school? Dunno. We just happened to get lucky that month last time. :wink

What is it about you having a cold that bugs him so much? Maybe :dog: style? Then if your nose got runny during the act he wouldn't see it? Good luck.

      Frog - good luck! :fingersx:

OK - so I technically made it to the next day without testing again. It was after midnight and I hadn't peed in a long time so I thought maybe now would be a good time. BFN. Again. OK. I can handle a neg result - but where the H*** is AF if I am not pregnant? If it weren't for last week's 3 days of AF-type cramps without AF ever actually showing up and then the tender breasts, I wouldn't even be worried about it very much.

Oh, well. I'm pretty sick of pee sticks now. So hopefully, either AF will show up or I can wait it out until later in the week. Unless I am mistaken, Sept. 7th should be DPO 18. But since I'm not temping....I guess that my own dang problem. :p

If all else fails, I'll call the doc's office and see what they suggest I do (if anything).

    • jdsmom - I've come down with something too, and it's right at o time (I think). We've already been bding like mad and I want a break but hate to miss the egg. Hope you and I can get over it quick. I've been drinking lots of hot tea but other than that no suggestions for you.

Please look at my chart. Why don't I have a high temp yet? Should I worry or is it too early? Anyone got an opinion?

    • Never mind. I just entered todays temp and got crosshairs. It gave them to me the day I suspected too. We didn't bd that day because we were at Disney all day and too tired at night. I did the day before and the day after so I think I still covered my bases right?

      Thanks!

    • starflower~ Once I made it 37 days with no bfn or af so I totally know how your feeling!!! The only bum part was I got af and had alreadly convinced myself that I was preggo! What a let down. Anyway good luck to you.

We are at it again this month! More serious this time with opk's! I want to get it this month or I'll go crazy!!!! :dizzy:

Does anyone else start thinking of when the baby will be born and what month? My ds was born in Aug. and I said I never wanted to be preggo in the middle of summer again. So now with June looming as edd I wander what happens if I miss it again?? and will we keep going? I really liked the idea of a spring baby march-may... but now its scaring me a little! Plus I dont want the birthdays in the same month. Just thought I would see what the opinion on this was.

Good luck to everyone!!! I cant wait to see what sept. has in store for us :thumb

      #183; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 01:52:00 GMT
    • My oldest son is a June babe. And Dh and I are considering skipping out TTC this month actually. I don't want to have 2 little ones born in the same month. I too really really really wanted a spring baby. It would've worked out perfectly. And I'm not looking forward to being pregnant in the summer but... I'd rather be pregnant next summer than not.

So guess when I said earlier that I hope we don't make to the Oct. thread I wasn't being very accurate. Chances are I will be around in Oct. since we'll most likely be avoiding having a June baby.

But good luck to all :dust

      #184; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 01:53:00 GMT
    • Hey I'm right there with you guys. I live in FL where June, July and August are truly tropical. I also really wanted a spring baby. If I got preg this time around I will have a late May baby but if not that was my last chance for a spring baby. From this point on it will be at least a little bit into the summer.

I'm 3 dpo and already obsessing. I can't stop myself from being hopeful. One of you was talking about visualizing the pregnancy and all and I've been doing that but I'm afraid I'm getting myself up for disappointment. I know I'll be really upset if it didn't work this time since I temped and all but also we had so much going on this month that it wouldn't be that surprising.

Ahhhhhhh the TTW is the worst for me.:dizzy:

    • I have a July baby already so I plan on not ttc next month if we don't get pregnant this month. Not that I have anything against July babies, but I'd rather not double up. My second and third dd's are both January but neither one was on purpose. :lol

I was pretty sure I O'd yesterday because I had heavy cramping and lots and lots of ewcm, but my temp this morning was really low; although I didn't sleep very well last night. :shrug Now today I'm feeling crampy again and starting to get more ewcm so maybe I'm O'ing today. This is my first month tracking my cycle and I'm confused.:dizzy: Anyway, we didn't get around to bd'ing yesterday, but I think tonight we will. We'll see.

Starflower, how frustrating. :( The waiting game is so hard to play and I bet it's near unbearable when it's stretched out like that. I hope you get some answers soon.:thumb

      #187; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 01:57:00 GMT
    • Well, I should be getting some answers soon. I'm still having creamy CM, some lower back aches today with mildly annoying cramping, tender nipples and it seems like I have to pee a lot. Oh yeah, and no AF. I'm also completely sleep-deprived so that doesn't help out any either.

I called my OB/GYN office and talked to one of the midwives. I decided to go ahead and get a blood PG test. She suggested at first that I wait it out but said that she'd probably have trouble doing that too. I have to get a TB test for DD's co-op preschool anyway, so this way I can at least get the TB test done while I am there so it won't be a total waste even if the PG test comes back negative. (I definitely want the other one to be negative!)

I feel a little bit better just knowing I will be talking to someone "in the know" about this stuff. The OCD is really making it hard right now. I'm keeping my :fingersx: for either a + or AF to show up. At this point, I'd seriously be happy about either one - I just want to have a definite answer.

I feel like I'm being annoying on this thread lately, but I guess that's kind of what it's here for - obsessing and support. I'll try to back off a bit soon, ladies. Thanks for your patience and the well wishes. :)

    • :carrot :banana :broc: :carrot :banana :broc: YAY LOLA!!!! :broc: :banana :carrot :broc: :banana :carrot (I'm gonna miss you girly!!!

I'm so excited to come back from vacation and see that we've gotten a BFP!!! FINALLY! Lets keep them coming!

:hola: & :w to all you newbies! Good to have you with us, and I hope you're stay here is short and sweet!

Our trip was wonderful. We went to a 3 Doors Down concert on the beach. It was awesome, and I got some great pictures! We got an "Old Time Photo" done and it's really cute. (thought I'm not very photogenic) and we went shopping along all the beach stores. But this afternoon, our first day back, I had something happen that requires me to ask you all a "has this ever happened to you" question. And then a "what on earth did you do to make it better" Question.

DH & I decided to DTD this afternoon and DD came home from school a half hour early!!! :yikes: And of course, we didn't lock the door because we weren't expecting her home for another half hour! OMG!!! Of course she walked right upstairs without yelling for me, and right into our room, and saw EVERYTHING!!! :jaw And of course I was so startled to see someone in my room, that I yelped and she got all scared and was like "mommy?" and I told her to go to her room for a minute and I'd be right there. We were covered from the waist down, but I feel horrible that she had to see even that!!! She's 7 years old. How damaged is she going to be because of this? What can I say to her to make sure she doesn't say anything to her friends? I asked her if she was Ok, and she said no, she was sad that I yelled at her. :guilty I don't know what to do, it's very awkward around here now... So I put on Ernist Goes to Jail for her, and she's at least laughing now... UGH!!!

      #189; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 01:59:00 GMT
    • Starflower, I'm so glad you'll be getting an answer! You must be going crazy.

mommy in chaos, she'll be totally fine. IMO there is nothing at all damaging about seeing your parents in the act. It's all just a part of life.

      #190; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:00:00 GMT
    • this is out first month TTC....we wern't super serousl about it but i THINK we BDed right around the time i O'd so we will see.

Next month is when we plan on getting serous about TTC....this month was "practice"

      #191; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:01:00 GMT
    • Mommy in Chaos...I feel for you. One day, you will all laugh about this! Explain you were just startled and didn't mean to yell. That's a tough situation but you weren't doing anything wrong.

Starflower...thinking of you and hoping it's positive. You haven't been annoying at all! I was just checking for any update from you!

I have a question for you all...so lately I've felt tingling in my breasts like milk in coming in...the same feeling of a let down only a lot milder. (If you've nursed a baby you know what I mean, if not you will hopefully soon!) I can actually express some clear liquid. I haven't nursed for over a year and this is the first time this has happened. My chart is up & down...with the last 5 days of high temps but I'm not 100% convinced I even O'd. Any ideas, advice? Should I go see someone? I wonder if my prolactin levels are high for some reason?

      #192; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:02:00 GMT
    • As much fun as I've had practicing, I's really like it if we got it right this month. :p

If not this month, then I have to sit back and do some thinking for a while. I'm a teacher and I have to go back to work so having a July baby would mean missing the start of the school year. Although my husband will be home with the baby, I'd feel bad leaving for work while the little one is still so little. Argh, too many choices. Guess that just means I'll have to get it right this month and have a baby before the summer vacation starts!

      #193; Tue, 11 Dec 2007 02:03:00 GMT
    • Update:

Still no AF, just creamy CM. AF-type cramping seems to be gone now. BBs a bit sore when DD nurses. I just got a call back from the OB/GYN's office and the blood test was negative.

:scratch I'm a bit perplexed as to why AF isn't here if I'm not PG. But maybe I miscalculated my delayed O? Or maybe I never really did O at all? We've had some stress but we always have stress and I thought for sure I felt O. I don't know. If I don't get AF by the end of the week, I guess I'll call the docs back and ask if I should be concerned or what could be going on?

I suppose it could be perimenopause? But it just seems very odd to me that it would happen all of a sudden at age 35 (:eek) after very regular and predictible cycles. Especially right when we finally started TTC again.

I'm OK with the negative results. I would really like to know if anything's going on that I should be concerned about though. Anyone else have this type of thing happen? Regular, predictible cycles then a suddenly seemingly unending one? This is CD38 for me. My longest cycle previously was 36 so I guess it's not that big of a stretch. I just hope there's nothing wrong with me.

On the plus side, I bought tickets to go see Paul Simon in concert this month. :D

    • :w and much :dust to Emma's_Mommy and PatchChild!

mommy_in_chaos: :blush :duh :yikes: :nono :crying It WILL BE OK.

PatchChild: I'm a teacher too. Just started back yesterday. I tried to plan my DD's birth time and it worked. She was born in June so I missed the last two weeks, I stayed home all summer and then took 60 days Sick Time and returned to work the week of Thanksgiving. I'm trying to do the same thing this time, a birth between April and June, pushing it to the first week of July. This is cycle three for me and would be a May baby if it worked. If not, I'm running out of time. Only September and October left to get it right!

      Mary-Beth: Sorry, no idea!

I think it might be the Universe telling me this isn't the perfect time for us to have a baby...Somehow thinking this actually helps me feel better.

    • I've been reading all the posts you ladies over 30 have been posting and wanted to tell you all that stress can delay ovulation. Doesn't matter if it's stress from moving to another home, moving to another state, stressing about a new job, stressing about cleaning your house, stressing about ovulating, stressing about ANYTHING... stress will delay ovulation.

Take a look at my cycles and what was going on durring each cycle.

January 1st - February 1st ... Nothing too exciting going on, just a bridal shower and a new year. Cycle 32 days long.

February 2nd - March 21st ... Got married March 18, BIG stress. Cycle 48 days long.

March 22nd - April 23rd ... not much stress... just hoping to get PG on our honeymoon with no luck because af came just as timed. Cycle 33 days long.

April 24th - May 28th ... Small stress planning DD's birthday party, not bad though. Cycle 35 days long.

May 29th - July 10th ... Tested for one week and had the build up to an LH surge and the day I thought I'd get a positive OPK, DH & I traveled all night from PA to NC and I drove the whole way. BIG stress, I ended up geting a positive OPK on CD 33, 2 weeks after I had anticipated it would have happened. Cycle 43 days long.

July 11th - August 28th ... stressed about ovulating because we're sick of TTC and really want to get it this time, Positive OPK on CD 35! Cycle 49 days long.

This is my year-to-date callender of proof that stress can and WILL delay ovulation. I'm anxious to see how long my cycle is this month with DH starting a new job in NC and us moving to NC from PA. I bet this will be a long one!!! But I wont be able to post much because of the plans we've been making to find an apartment and what not. I'll be spending a lot of time away from the computer...

I WISH WE COULD ALL STOP STRESSING ABOUT THIS!!! TTC is supposed to be fun, not stressfull!

I'm sending lots of baby dust to everyone who is stressed out right now...

      :dust:dust:dust:dust:dust:dust:dust:dust:dust:dust :dust:dust:dust:dust

      Good luck everyone.

You have been a wonderful source of encouragement and support during my time on the newbie thread. :Thanks sooooo much! Your presence will be missed here, I'm sure of it! :)

Thanks for the kind words. I'm really going to miss having you here. This is my last cycle on the newbies thread before I move to the 6 months + TTC thread. :crying But If I get that BFP, I'll be sending you an personal message just to let you know. How are you feeling? Are you enjoying the pregnancy board? How are the women over there? They better be nice to you or I'll kick their butts :wink Well, I gotta get back to cleaning the kitchen... I don't want to start packing, so I'm cleaning so I don't have to when I do start to pack... I'll try to stop in every once in a while just to say hi...

    • I know stress can delay ovulation but for me it is interesting that I've gone through life with normal cycles- new jobs, moving, job loss, marriage, death of loved one's, ttc#1, ttc#2, etc, etc. without having it effect my cycles like this. So that's why for me it seems to mean now just isn't my time for my third little miracle...I'm okay with that but I'm not giving up either.

I had a visit with a holistic Dr. and found some hormonal stuff going on...I'm on various nutrients that I think will help. Hopefully no more leaking breasts!:innocent

Mommy in chaos, is everything getting better at your house? Wishing you well!

Thank you for asking about everything... Things have been pretty crazy with everything that's going on. As for my best friends mom, they have decided to get a second opinion, and they have to travel over 2 hours to get her there. She can barely move, let alone walk to the car, drive for almost 3 hours, and then go into a hospital waiting room and wait to be examined by the doctors. They have a whole group of people looking at her, they are a board of oncologists who say that there are only about 400 cases of this type of luchemia diagnosed every year! That's not very many if you think about how many people there are in this world. And on top of that, they say that not everyone who has this type is responsive to the treatment they have available. So it's still up in the air, and your continued prayers would be a great asset to us.

As for the move... I really don't want to start packing untill we have a new place to live. I hate living out of boxes. So I'm procrastinating by cleaning, and I really don't even want to be doing that!!! I just want to be like Genie (you know from "I Dream Of Genie) that crossed her arms and blinked and everything was done... But I don't think they make those kinds of Genies anymore! Oh well... I'm back to the laundry room to iron DH's work clothes...

    • Got the crosshairs today--nailed the first insem timing, the second may have been too late, but maybe not, since FF only works in 24-hour blocks. :)

    • Frog - I hope you and I get our BFP's this month. Have you decided when you might test? I'm thinking if I can I'll wait until the 18th.

    • I have sworn off $ tree tests. This last cycle I started testing with them at 9 or 10 dpo and saw a faint line just about every time. The last two I did (at 11 and 12 or 12 and 13 dpo) a double line showed up right away and the line was definately pink, though faint. I don't know what the deal is (partly my imagination and really bad evap lines is my guess) but with future cycles I am waiting until AF is late and using a different test (preferably digital). It was just too emotionally draining.

    • Katie,

I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning, that is it. I don't drink a lot of soda, maybe once a month. No, we are not temping yet. I wanted to start this cycle. I just found this place and have been learning tons!! I never tempt with the other two. Can't wait to get started!! I hope that everything kicks back in fast. I had been taking bcp for 12 years!!

DD says she wants a baby brother but I swear she seems to get sick every time I'm approaching O. She's doing better now but she's wide awake and it's 3 a.m. Our house is a wreck and I have my parents coming in two weeks. I feel like I have been pretty much parenting on my own for 2-3 days because when DD is sick she gets into "mommy-only" mode.

Hopefully, it won't interfere too much with TTC this month. We'll see. I've been doing the Evening Primrose Oil, red rasp. and today I got some giuf?? I have no idea how to spell it but it's the natural robitussin stuff. Tastes a little less gross than the robi. :lol Must be from the cherry extract instead of whatever creepy chemical they use to produce artificial cherry flavor for the other stuff.

I still haven't tried the grapefruit. Don't plan to at this point either. Hopefully this other stuff will help in the EWCM dept.

    • When do you usually start testing?

I get so heartbroken with every BFN that I have to wait until at least 14 DPO to test if AF hasn't shown up. I'm more okay with AF showing up then that one lonely pink line. I've never used anything but a FRER twice, so...

    • Yep tested thismorning 10-11dpo and got a bfn with $tree... I know to early right? I was going to wait until day 14 but hubbys mom is coming into town and I really wanted to know something before she got here... the only thing I know is I'm not pregnant :gloomy: Errrrr all my hope is out the windown on one stupid test!!!! :bang

Well the only thing to do is sit and wait until more time has passed.... is it time yet??

Hi Jezzy, check out One Thread forum too, for more info about TTC.

Caffeine may be ok in small amounts, but I'd research it. I gave it up years ago and can tell if I get full caf, instead of decaf by mistake. (Happened all the time last sumemr in Germany, by the way:)...) I even get decaf green tea, and hope it doesn't negate the purported benefits.

You may be able to get saliva hormone testing done in Germany. IMHO, I'd get that done to see where you stand with our hormones if you have problems TTC, since you were on BCP for so long. You may want to check out the book by John Lee regarding pre-menopause...the info in it is not soley appropriate for pre-menopause, but for lots of hormone issues.

      Good luck!!!

    • Hello Ladies!

I can't believe how much has gone on since I've been away! Let me start by saying :hola: & :w to all you newbies!!! I hope you aren't here very long!!! :dust :dust :dust to you all!

Then let me move right on to the CONGRATULATIONS PATCH!!! That is totally Awesome!!! :carrot :banana :broc: :broc: :banana :carrot I hope you have a HH9!!!

Here's my update... FF changed my crosshairs so I'm only 7 DPO today. But it's ok, we still hit the O day with the BD. So now it's waiting. I don't know if I'm going to test this month. DH is in another state, and I really wanted to test with him home. I actually have not POAS at all this cycle!!! I'm so proud of myself. Not even a waste of a dime. My chart looks good this month... it's not a million days long. I O'd on CD 21, so it's not too bad. But at 7 DPO I'm itching to know. Don't really have any "unusual" pregnancy symptoms. Just the regular sore bb's and creamy cm. No nausea, no irritability, just kinda sad because DH isn't here.

(side note: Last night was the first night I slept completely alone since we got married and I had to sleep with the TV on because it's scary without him.)

So anyway, no pregnancy symptoms to report, just the usual pre-af stuff... AKA: PMS So it's just a bla report today.

I'm off to continue packing. Hope all are well. I miss talking to you all, and if we don't succeed this month, I'm off to the 6+ months TTC thread :( But who knows, it could happen...

Tons of :dust to you all!!!

    • :dust back atcha Theresa.
